One or more of the uncompressed files is different than the same file before compression - hence the checksum error. I don't know what the problem is, but thinking out loud - Your description in your first post suggests (to me) there is a problem during the compression/decompression process with the installation package. I don't recommend that at all and if I were to encounter that situation, I would find another game to play, or different security. I note that several users have reported success installing and running misbehaving games by disabling their anti-malware scanners. But sadly, no software based memory checker is 100% conclusive so it may be necessary to remove all but one stick of RAM and see how that goes. ![]() I generally let MemTest run overnight so it can get several passes in. And finally, as seen here, it frequently does not resolve the problem! And that is common when the problem may be hardware related. Nothing is learned to prevent recurrence as evidence of the actual problem is destroyed. All your data and downloaded files will be lost - if not properly backed up. ![]() For one, it can set you months, if not years behind in security updates. ![]() ![]() Reinstalling the OS should ALWAYS be a last resort option for many reasons.
